Funding to support you on your ADHD journey
Find out if you could be eligible for funding through Access to Work and what support it covers (UK residents only)
Access to Work is a government-funded program aimed at removing barriers that individuals with disabilities or mental health conditions may face in the workplace. This scheme provides practical and financial support to ensure you can perform your job effectively and thrive in your professional environment.
Depending on your needs, Access to Work may be used to fund:
- Specialist coaches or workplace trainers
- Specialist equipment, including software, headphones or a standing desk
- Support workers to help you in the workplace
- Transport costs if you cannot use public transport
- Mental health support services
Access to Work is available to individuals who:
- Have a disability or a long-term physical or mental health condition, such as ADHD or autism
- Are aged 16 or over
- Are employed, self-employed, or about to start employment or a work trial
- Need support that is not typically covered by an employer’s reasonable adjustments
You can apply online or over the phone. During the application, you’ll be asked to provide:
- your personal details
- information about your disability and how it impacts you at work
- details about your business, job or job offer
A few months after your application, an Access to Work advisor will contact you to discuss your needs in more detail. They may arrange for a workplace assessment by an external assessor to identify the specific support and equipment required.
A support plan will be sent to you, which outlines the recommended adjustments, equipment, or services. You may be asked to provide some quotes. We can provide a detailed, budgeted breakdown of my ADHD coaching for you to send to Access to Work for approval.
Even if the plan includes recommended suppliers, you are free to choose your own based on the original budget and plan. Although the processes can feel bureaucratic, the Access to Work online portal means that you can see how much of your grant you have spent and what is left. We are happy to meet you for a call to go through the process when you first start with the grant.
